Checkup

What is missing, before it matters.

For every person, vehicle, property, pet and business, Thaw knows what should be on file. The checkup lists what is missing, lapsed, expired or duplicated, worst first, each with what to do about it.

Expectations by kind

A vehicle should have a title, a current registration and a current policy. An adult should have a photo ID, a will and a power of attorney. A business should have its formation documents, EIN letter and current licenses.

Series that skip a year

"Tax returns for 2015 to 2025 except 2021." "Property tax bills for every year but 2019." With where the missing one comes from.

Hygiene

Three copies of the same lease. Forty-one utility bills past any retention need, as one item. Documents nobody is linked to.

Dismiss with a reason

"Sold the car" closes every expectation about it. "Not applicable" is remembered. Nothing nags twice.

Details

  • The checkup recomputes every time a document is filed and once a day, so a policy that lapsed overnight shows up without a new document.
  • Solutions are practical: which office, which form, what to bring, with the link.

Questions

Will it tell me things I do not want to hear?

It tells you what a household like yours usually has on file and you do not. You can dismiss anything, with a reason, and it stays dismissed.

Point it at the pile and walk away.

Early access is open to a small group of households and owner-run businesses. Tell us a little about your paper and we will send an invitation.
