About

Built by someone who needed it.

Thaw is made in Texas by Peter Leonard, who spent fifteen years filing his own household's paper through Evernote, then a self-hosted paperless-ngx on a Mac mini in a closet, and eventually decided the step every tool left in place, carrying the document to the tool, was the one worth removing.

The rest of the day job is MyWorks, which has synced small businesses' stores to their accounting for over a decade. That background is why Thaw treats the owner-run business as a first-class household member rather than an afterthought, and why the year-end package for the CPA is on the roadmap.

Thaw is in early access with a small group of families and businesses. Documents are read by Claude through the Anthropic API. Hosting is AWS in Ohio. The design system, the type registry and the security model are documented in public on this site because they are the product.

Write to hello@thaw.texas.dev. It reaches a person.

Point it at the pile and walk away.

Early access is open to a small group of households and owner-run businesses. Tell us a little about your paper and we will send an invitation.
